Warranty Information

WestGuard Security Doors (“we”, “us”, “our”) provides high-quality, custom-made security doors and screens. This Warranty Policy outlines the coverage, conditions, and claims process for all products and installations.

Please read carefully to understand what is covered and how to make a warranty claim.

1. Warranty Overview

All WestGuard products are covered by both:

✔ WestGuard Installation Warranty

and

✔ Manufacturer Material Warranty

Different components have different coverage periods, as outlined below.

2. Warranty Periods

A. Security Door Frames

5-year structural warranty
Covers frame integrity, welding, and structural defects under normal use.

B. Mesh Types

  • ClearView 316 Stainless Steel Mesh: 5 years

  • AluGuard Perforated Aluminium Mesh: 5 years

  • XGuard Privacy Mesh: 5 years

  • Diamond Grille: 5 years

  • Flyscreen Mesh (fibreglass, aluminium, pet mesh, tuff mesh): 6 months

C. Hardware & Accessories

  • Hinges: 12 months

  • Door closers: 6 months

  • Triple locks / single locks: 12 months

  • Rollers for sliding doors: 12 months

D. Installation Workmanship

12-month installation warranty
Covers alignment, general fitting issues, and workmanship defects.

3. What This Warranty Covers

✔ Manufacturing defects

✔ Material defects

✔ Excessive corrosion (if correct mesh type was chosen for environment)

✔ Faulty hardware supplied by us

✔ Installation workmanship issues within 12 months

✔ Mesh integrity when used under normal residential conditions

4. What This Warranty Does NOT Cover

The warranty does NOT apply if damage results from:

❌ Misuse, abuse, or tampering

❌ Attempted break-ins, forced entry, or impact damage

❌ Using the triple lock incorrectly (forcing it shut, slamming door)

❌ Damage caused by pets, children, or foreign objects

❌ Environmental or coastal corrosion when marine-grade material wasn’t selected

❌ Normal wear and tear (scratches, marks, fading)

❌ Incorrect measurements supplied by the customer

❌ Modifications, DIY adjustments, or third-party repairs

❌ Poor building structures, uneven frames, or shifting walls

❌ Storm, flood, fire, or weather-related damage

5. Care & Maintenance Requirements

To keep your warranty valid, customers must follow these care guidelines:

Cleaning Frequency (Minimum):

  • Urban areas: Every 3 months

  • Industrial/coastal areas: Every 1 month

  • Severe marine zone (within 1km of ocean): Every 2 weeks

Cleaning Method:

  • Use mild soapy water and a soft cloth

  • Rinse with clean water

  • Do not use harsh chemicals, pressure washers, or abrasive pads

Failure to maintain the door may void the warranty.

6. Warranty Limitations

  • Warranty is non-transferable and applies only to the original purchaser.

  • Warranty begins on the installation date.

  • WestGuard is not responsible for consequential damages, loss of use, loss of security, or financial loss.

  • Replacement parts may differ from original components if unavailable.

7. Warranty Claim Process

To lodge a claim, customers must provide:

  1. Full name & contact details

  2. Address of installation

  3. Invoice or proof of purchase

  4. Description of the issue

  5. Photos or videos showing the problem

Once received:

  • Claims are reviewed within 2–5 business days

  • If approved, repairs or replacements will be arranged

  • If issue is not covered, a call-out fee may apply

8. Replacement or Repair

If covered by warranty, WestGuard will:

✔ Repair the faulty component

or

✔ Replace the faulty component

If a product is discontinued or unavailable, a similar or equivalent product may be used.

9. Australian Consumer Law (ACL) Notice

This warranty is provided in addition to rights under Australian Consumer Law.
Customers are entitled to:

  • A replacement or refund for major failures

  • Compensation for foreseeable loss or damage

  • Repair or replacement for minor failures

Nothing in this policy limits your ACL rights.
